My Opinion on the Color-Coded Revision
Color coded revision was a technique I had never heard of and done. When I tried it for the first time, it was truly interesting how much information on my writing it gave me, and it allowed me to see how much of a certain writing element I had within my writing as well as how little there was. Albeit, trying to find out what’s what within my writing using the technique was quite confusing as a beginner, due to how similar certain elements are to one another, and whether or not I had that element. The three things I will need to focus on for my final draft is, having more direct quotes, characterization, and adding the transitional words in the right place. This is due to how I only have a single line for both, which in turn leads my writing to have little character, and the transitional words are seemingly out of place. I feel like I had a bit too much Description, albeit it allows for more imagery. This leads me to the main thing I will have to work on, that being a better description of the Disney movie with quotes that affected me and left an impression on me when I was younger. The reason this is the main thing I have to work on is due to how I didn’t really use much of any quotes from the movie, which makes it lack a certain charm to my writing, but maybe that’s just me. All in all, color coded revision is quite useful when you wish to see what elements you have within your writing and you get a better sense of the pacing within your writing, not only that but it allows one to find certain portions of the writing that need adjustment. I truly feel that this helped me realize the things I may need to adjust and fix to make my final draft close or truly complete.
